The last 12 months seem to have flown by and as usual the hall has been busy, probably the busiest it has ever been in its life time. No doubt some of the senior residents of Trefnant would tell us that Saturdays were very busy with whist drives, dances and the snooker room would have been a hive of activity most nights, how things have changed. The last couple of months there have been parties for 90’s and 70’s birthdays, numerous kids parties, fund raising concerts, weddings, christenings, and it has even been in use Christmas Day.
Many thanks again this year to Antony, Clair and family, Plas Newydd Estate for the Christmas tree, Community council for insurance, Val and Arthur for erecting and decorating the tree, Drew from 911 electrical for checking out the wiring (it is brilliant that they can give their time free of charge to do this). In total £46 was collected at the chip shop towards the tree, this will be used to replace lights next year if needed.
The children’s Christmas party was a great success, thanks to Paul Meacock for entertainment and Marina Haetenboerk for the food and drinks. The seniors party went well thanks to Tudur Wyn for entertainment, David Roberts ‘the chippy’ for a brilliant buffet, and also a very big thank you to everyone who helped with serving all the food and drinks, and of course the clearing up.
As Chairman it gives me a chance to thank all the committee and everybody that helped during the last 12 months and fingers crossed the next year goes as smooth as the last.
