Our Centenary Year 2015, this has been a very busy year and exciting time for Trefnant W.I., apart from 10 meetings, eight speaker meetings, AGM and our August break, there were many activities in which we have been involved. We had two social meetings out at the Faenol Fawr and Bod Erw. We hosted fundraising events and celebration events for our centenary year.
Members also took part in competitions at the Denbigh and Flint Show and the Trefnant Show with some successful and pleasing results. Members created a scrapbook for the Maesgwyn Cup competition which was a chronological history of the highlights and achievements of W.I. Trefnant. As part of the Centenary celebrations, members collected and donated 100 tins to the Denbigh Food Bank, 100 pieces of clothing for local charities and the Syrian refugees and 100 bulbs were planted in the W.I. Rose Garden, which the Village Hall Committee prepared during the Summer months.
Finally 100 balloons were released at our Arts and Crafts Exhibition and Afternoon Tea for the village on October 17th, this date was the nearest to our actual Centenary Day of October 14th 2015. This last years calendar of events has illustrated how, enthusiastic, energetic and committed the members have been.
Everyone has been most supportive of the programme of events and celebrations which have taken place. We meet every second Thursday of the month and welcome new members, if you are interested or would like further information please contact Ena Stewart (President) 01745 730353.
